4 Cricket players who will miss the IPL 2023

With Season 16 of the IPL around the corner, the build-up for the tournament has already started. The venues and schedules have been announced, and now fans from across the world are all set to support their favourite teams and cheer them to victory. Players have also started searching for the best IPL betting sites, where they can place bets on their teams and players.

However, amidst all the excitement, there is some disappointing news as well. A few of the top players will not be playing this season due to injuries or a hectic work schedule. This is a let-down for the teams that they were a part of, as their absence will be felt deeply.

Here is a list of players who will not play in the 2023 IPL season.

1. Rishabh Pant

The captain of the Delhi Capitals, Rishabh Pant, won’t be at the helm of his squad this year. Pant was seriously hurt in an automobile accident in December last year and is still recovering from his injuries. He will most likely be replaced by batsman David Warner, the ex-captain of Sunrisers Hyderabad and one of the leading run-getters in the IPL.

2. Jasprit Bumrah

A pacer for Mumbai Indians, Jasprit Bumrah will also be giving IPL 2023 a miss, as he still hasn’t recovered from his back injury. Mumbai Indians will need to find a suitable replacement for the pacer if they want to stay on top of the points table. Some of the likely options are:

  1. Chris Jordan
  2. Sandeep Sharma
  3. Dushmanta Chameera
  4. Taskin Ahmed
  5. Tom Curran

3. Pat Cummins

Bowler for Kolkata Knight Riders, Pat Cummins would not be returning to IPL this year, due to a heavy international calendar. Pat Cummins began his IPL journey in 2015 and has since played over 45 matches. He also holds the record for the fastest half-century scored in the IPL, a record he shared with KL Rahul.

4. Aaron Finch

Aaron Finch pulled out of the IPL series last year after failing to register for the mini-auction. He has been on the team of 9 franchises. In IPL 2022, he played for KKR as a replacement for Alex Hales. Of the 92 matches that he played in the IPL, he scored 2091 runs.
