Batting
Lahore Qalandars is the only team that has defeated Multan Sultans this season. Now the question is whether they will be able to beat them again. There are a few things that go against the Lahore Qalandars. The first is that Lahore Qalandars have lost two of their most recent three matches and the second is their reliance on Fakhar Zaman with the bat.
Fakhar Zaman is head and shoulders above all and is the top run-scorer of PSL 2022. However, if he gets out, then the team can be in a lot of trouble. Harry Brooke has done exceptionally well in a few matches and we know what Phil Salt is capable of, however, the conditions are not to his liking. We believe that if Fakhar Zaman gets out cheaply, then Lahore Qalandars will have to fight to match.
Bowling
Rashid Khan has left the PSL to join the Afghanistan national team and this is another big loss in terms of the team’s strength. Qalandar has brought in Fawad Ahmed, but he is nowhere near the same kind of threat. Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf can never be counted and they will take a big responsibility with the ball. The risk that Lahore Qalandars pose is unbelievable, but we don’t think the odds justify the risk you would have to bet on them.
