IPL 2022 Schedule: Tata Indian Premier League is all set to start on the 26th of March, the 15th season of IPL will be played in bio-bubble venues, to avoid air travel. The first match is likely to be played between Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders in Wankhede stadium, Mumbai. Fans are very excited to witness the amazing battle between 10 teams. The final is likely to be played on the 29th of May.

A total of 70 matches will be played in 4 venues, Maharashtra. Tata IPL will start after 10 days of the IND VS SL Test series.

IPL Format:

This season is going to be extra thrilling because of the 2 new teams in the tournament. This IPL will be played in a new interesting format i.e. The 10 teams are divided into two groups.

IPL Group

MI, KKR, RR, DC, and LSG are in Group A, while CSK, SRH, RCB, PBKS, and GT are in Group B.

As per the new format:

  1. Each team will play twice with the team in their group.
  2. The team hailing in the same row, will also play two matches against each other.
  3. The rest of the teams in the second group will play one match with the team in the first group in the Tata IPL 2022.

For example – DC from group A will play 2 matches against, MI, KKR, RR, and LSG. DC will also play 2 matches against PBKS. And with the remaining team in group B, DC will play one-one matches against CSK, SRH, RCB, and, GT.

IPL Venue:

The 15th edition of the Indian Premier League will be played in Bio-secure to avoid exposure from Covid, and for avoiding air travel. All the IPL matches will be played on 4 grounds in Maharashtra.

Here’s the breakdown of IPL Matches according to the venues:

Mumbai – Wankhede Stadium – 20 Matches

Mumbai – Brabourne Stadium (CCI) – 15 Matches

Mumbai – DY Patil Stadium – 20 Matches.

Pune – MCA International Stadium – 15 Matches.

All the teams will play:

4 matches each at Wankhede Stadium and DY Patil Stadium.

3 matches each at Brabourne Stadium (CCI) and MCA International Stadium, Pune.
